All applications will be reviewed by the TIA Nominating Committee, after which the Committee will extend interview invitations to selected candidates. Interviews may be in person or by conference call with the Committee and subject to current board term
limits and timing.
Time Commitment
TIA Board Members are expected to attend (at their expense) twice yearly Board of Directors meetings, usually held in the early Spring or late Summer during the US Open in New York City in late August or early September. Each TIA Board meeting generally
lasts up to one half day. Board members also are expected to be available for conference calls and for various "committee" and "project team" work.
Characteristics of Successful Candidates
TIA Nominating Committee decisions are based on many factors. The Committee will be looking for candidates who can help advance the TIA's mission of promoting the growth of tennis and the economic vitality of the industry. This includes helping to shape
the goals and priorities of the TIA and the industry, including increasing tennis participation and frequent play, increasing awareness and advocacy for tennis, and committing to a unified approach to the industry under one brand - TENNIS.
The TIA is not accepting letters of recommendation, however the TIA Nominating Committee may seek feedback from people familiar with an applicant's performance in the roles listed on the application.
